As a lifelong sewer, crafter, glue gunner and bedazzler, it was a dream of mine to be able to do what I loved every day. I learned to sew from my mother,a master seamstress and hand embroiderer and promptly made doll clothes and beds. This quickly progressed into Halloween, theater and dance costumes. Pretty soon, to steal a quote from Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion, my mantra was “Don’t buy that, I can make it for you!” When I had 4 children, 3 of them girls, I knew there was no end of monogrammed, smocked and ruffled things that I needed to be making. Needless to say, I had gone down the rabbit hole. Several years ago, I had the honor of meeting Rachel Chadesh. We clicked immediately and soon I was helping her sew for her business, Stitches So Sweet. When it was time for Rachel to sell Stitches, I never doubted for a minute that I had to take it over. That brings us to where we are today. The studio has moved to Burr Ridge. I’ve added some new designs and products. But, the same heartfelt creativity and love still goes into every creation. It is my goal that ever item ordered from Stitches So Sweet is cherished and loved for years to come.
